2013 Fall Workshop

We are happy to announce our Fall 2012 CS4HS Workshop for High School Teachers in Virginia. Once again we will host a workshop in our Northern Virginia facilities starting with a social gathering on Friday November 15th evening and an all day event on Saturday November 16th.

As before, the goal of our workshops are:

This year, we will focus on Python. We will show how to use Python in the classroom within the context of Media Computation and also show our early version of Pythy. Pythy is a browser-based Python that makes it easy for you to deploy in your classroom as it doesn't require any software installation, supports assignments, automated grading, and other classroom specific features.

On Friday night, after the dinner, we will have a brief run down of some of the other technologies we have been exploring in the classroom, including Web-CAT, and Android programming. On Saturday, we will devote the morning to Python, and leave the afternoon available for more in depth discussion on any of the topics presented or other topics that you can request in the registration form.

As usual, we will make the material available to other teachers after the workshop.
