Application (Fall 2013)

The application is now closed.

The application deadline for the workshop is Friday October 25th, 2013 (3 weeks before the workshop). The workshop will take place on Friday November 15th and Saturday November 16th, 2013. Participants will be selected on a first-come basis, as long as they meet the requirements for participation and we have space left in the workshop.

Requirements for participation: You must be a teacher that teaches high school computing courses in Virginia to participate. In addition, you must complete the application form below and express your interest on topics for Saturday afternoon.

Application: Registration is free, however we have space for 30 workshop participants, 22 of them from the Northern Virginia area and 8 participants from other parts of the state. The Northern Virginia participants will not receive hotel accommodations, the others will receive hotel accommodations with 2 teachers per room.

• We will offer $250 honorarium to all participants (that are present both days).
• We will offer hotel accommodations to 8 participants.
• We will provide a meal on friday night, breakfast on Saturday morning, and boxed lunches on Saturday for all participants.
• We will also have coffee and other snacks during the breaks on Saturday.

Hotel Accommodations: we have funding for 8 teachers for hotel accommodations near the NRC facilities. This is intended to help those teachers from other parts of the state who would like to join us. We are able to offer room for 2 participants per room. Please indicate in the application form if you want to be considered for the hotel accommodations.
