Application (Fall 2012)

The application deadline for the workshop is Friday October 12, 2012. The workshop will take place on Friday October 26 and Saturday October 27, 2012. Participants will be selected on a first-come basis, as long as they meet the requirements for participation and we have space left in the workshop.

Requirements for participation: You must be a teacher that teaches high school computing courses in Virginia to participate. In addition, you must complete the application form below and email us a homework or lab that you would like to update by changing it to another language or making it work on a handheld device (Android), etc.

Application: Registration is free, however we have space for 30 workshop participants, 22 of them from the Northern Virginia area and 8 participants from other parts of the state. The Northern Virginia participants will not receive hotel accommodations, the others will receive hotel accommodations with 2 teachers per room.

• We will offer 0 honorarium to all participants (that are present both days).
• We will offer hotel accommodations to 8 participants.
• We will provide a meal on friday night, breakfast on Saturday morning, and boxed lunches on Saturday for all participants.
• We will also have coffee and other snacks during the breaks on Saturday.

Hotel Accommodations: we have funding for 8 teachers for hotel accommodations near the NRC facilities. This is intended to help those teachers from other parts of the state who would like to join us. We are able to offer room for 2 participants per room. Please indicate in the application form if you want to be considered for the hotel accommodations.
